Dexter does make lift kits for some of their torflex axles. It is a simple kit and may be worth looking into.

You are correct! I just looked and yes they do make a lift kit. However, only up to 7k axles, that I found, I will keep looking. This picture is very close to what mine looks like.

It is getting worse. I did a build on a new Diamond C LPD and LPT in a 16-18' dump. The dealer is saying they might not build it this year upload_2021-6-20_5-27-31.gif #ad

After you do the build on D/C's web site, a notice pops up, to be advised, "Dealers are selling at or near or over MSRP"!!

    MSRP on a 16' LPT is $20,087 and a 18' LPD is $21,026!!

Better put your order in now :D:D

Speaking of Load Trail....overall I am really liking mine. Still wish I could have found one (this year) with a torsion axle but that was a choice I knew I would have to live with.

NOT impressed with the tires they are shipping these with. Loaded they are some of the squirmiest tires I've ran. I've already had to patch one....ran a utility knife blade over and it buried it to the gills in the tread o_O Never saw such a flimsy piece of metal pierce a tire. Gonna have to replace them before one goes KABOOM

And this, this was a bad idea. This gap between the end of the bed and 2x4 box. Material not only packs in between there it also falls down into the 2 x 6 box tube where the taillights?&src=tdr">tail lights are cut into. They scarfed the top and sides of the box tube for the ramp slides.....material and water fill that entire box tube up with no place to go. Bottom and sides are sealed. This is a no go around here....all that wet material marinating in calcium chloride is sure to put drain holes in the bottom quick. Once I saw what was happening I spent 2 hours cleaning stone, sand, mulch and manure out of the inside of the 2x6 box tube and caulked the seam. This will probably be something I constantly have to battle as I am not expecting the silicone to hold up.

It is almost like they want these to rot out in a matter of years :(

It is hard to see in the 2nd pic but the bottom of the 2 x 6 box tube is full of water. This is where everything was collected prior to cleaning. Being there is no way to keep water out I am thinking about punching a few drain holes in the bottom...

How have those been holding up? Hercules is owned by Cooper I think? I have been super happy with the S637's on my tilt deck but lately am feeling super guilty buying anything made in Commie Land.

So far so good, but not many miles on them.

It is crazy how you guys in the rust belt have to deal with rust. Look at this dump trailer.

Thats about par if you don't undercoat annually. The new fangled catpiss road treatments are more potent IMO than traditional rock salt. So much so that the EPA has begun cracking down on municipalities for all the run off. Poisoned wildlife and polluted water ways is the new norm. When the vegetation in the ditches stays brown halfway thru the summer you know its bad. Weeds will grow almost anywhere.

Picked up a roofing nail in the side wall of my PJ dump tire. Tire shop wouldn't fix it so I ordered a new Hercules Strong Guard HRA, 235/75x17.5, LR16, made in Thailand. Looks to be a good tire. Tire was $201, after all the fine print, $273 out the door. It is only 16 ply which in kind of strange, most of the 235's are 18 ply. It does have the same weight capacity, 6k. It is also an all position tire. Went ahead and installed the new spare on the other side. I will need two more, soon.

17.5's are much stronger than any LT or ST tire. The 215 17.5 size is close to a 235 R16 LT or ST. So if your running heavy in that size its the best way to go. I 'm surprised more people don't run them on heavy trailers. I still see huge 40' boats going down the road with ST 16's on triple axle trailers and one owner said he looses a few of them every season! He carries at least two spares all the time. Another fellow had four spares on his boat trailer! Big off shore boats though, around 19K.

Had a good trip, 1438 miles. Truck and trailer ran flawless. Fuel mileage on the way up, about 15.5k, by the math 13.42, display 13.86. On the way back, about 19K, math 11.71, display 12.06. Rear diff is running 160F:)
