I am a Recent Dodge Ram convert with very little knowledge experiencing problems currently on a road trip. As little knowledge as I have, I DO KNOW this is the place to ask for help. I have a 2009 Ram 3500 4wd, crew cab dually, 6.7, manual 6 speed trans. I bought this truck used and it came with a Mini Max tuner with DPF delete on it. Recently, while pulling a 5th wheel in gears 4 through 6 while powering up a grade the truck starts losing power, the rpms ramp up quickly and then all power I usually get via the tuner is lost. I traded out the chip with a new spare I have but no diff. Being ignorant of this all, can it be the turbo. I'm from Alaska, ran the truck and 5th wheel up and down the Alcan and now am in the states trying to see the America I've never seen. I've never had this problem until now. Any ideas boys?

To get codes, key on, off, on, off, on. Read the odometer screen.

If your rpm goes up rapidly and your road speed does not it is clutch time.Never expect a stock clutch to live behind a hot rodeo Cummins

Not going to get codes without a scanner that can read them, key trick quit working in 2006. If you rpms are ramping up, the truck is slowing, the clutch is slipping.

It is inconsistent and has been since they switched to CAN network. What is returned has always been a subset even on the PCI network, cannot rely 100% all the correct codes are being returned unless a scanner with the Dodge module is used. I don't think a slipping clutch will return codes anyway, no output shaft speed sensor to input\output rpms IIRC.
