I found a 2016 3500 with only 26,000 miles on it. When I crawled under to look at the underside there was transmission fluid all over the transmission pan. Would the gasket be toast already at 26,000 miles? An older couple owns it and it was pretty much just used for 5th wheel towing. It doesn't have the Aisin. Any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    thank you

I'll ask thank you. There wasn't fluid anywhere else but on the transmission pan and the sides of the transmission lightly. Like it was blowing up off the pan slightly. Engine oil pan was good and everything in front or transmission was good with no leaks.

Let's see what they say, sounds a lit like a butched job there. Can you see is there a seal in between? Factory is sealant only and I haven't seen them leak.

dipstick tube seals are known leakers, too.

So the lady doesn't know if the transmission fluid has been changed. Husband has dementia so he doesn't know, his condition is why they are selling. The carfax report doesn't show anything but oil changes and regular maintenance, always done at the dealership. When I looked under the truck I do remember seeing sealant mashed between the pan and the transmission. She agreed to take it to the dealer and have the leak looked at.
