No different than the modern truck stops where you can eat as healthy or un healthy as you want.

@Wiredawg, You didn't try and load Buc-ee up on the flat bed for a decoration at the homestead? :p Glad you had a nice lunch with the Misses! Enjoy and be careful with the summer heat that is upon us!

Buc-ee's is probably the best place of it's type. Never seen so many fuel pumps in one place. Their BBQ looks amazing as does the jerky. All I'm saying is it's loaded with garbage food. They have the same bags of oversalted chips and god knows all the other snack bags... as you walk around the place you keep seeing the same products. It's the way it's marketed.... in your face. But you know what's funny? I love Cracker Jacks. They don't carry it and when I asked if they had it they didn't even know what cracker jacks was. I described it and they sent me over to the bags of caramel corn and pop corn. I like the cracker jacks with the peanuts.

Not like the old days. Just a stupid piece of paper. "Choking Hazard" killed the little gadgets.

I liked Cracker Jack too, except in later years there were fewer nuts. I like Fiddle Faddle where it's popcorn and nut clusters.

We used to stop at Stuckey, which was a car stop, clean bathrooms, and junk food travelers and kids like. The pecan pralines are wonderful.

Even though there is healthy food there, that's not what we're after when we go there, nor is it when we go out to eat. We tend to eat healthy at home.

I had a thought of mixing the caramel popcorn with either the caramel nuts or the spicy nuts... sweet and spicy might be good.

Somebody told one of the health food advocates, "You gonna look funny lying in that box with nothing the matter with you!"

At least I'll fit in it.
I'd rather die responsibly healthy than irresponsibility obese, screwing the healthcare system. I dread the day I need an electric cart at walmart.

I ran down to Rosharon last week, and stopped at the Madison Buc-ee's to fill up on both legs. Also tried a jerky flavor that I never saw before: Bohemian Garlic. If you like garlic, you'll love this. And for what it's worth, I'll put the healthiness of Buc-ee's junk food up against the junk food of Love's, Pilot, Petro or any other truck stop out there any day of the week. And I love Chester's Fried! The secret is to enjoy the food occasionally or when you travel, but don't live on it every day of your life. Basically, the same advice your parents gave you when you were a kid: Moderation in everything. If you ate home cooked brisket every day you wouldn't fare any better. And if Buc-ee's (or any other truck stop) sold nothing but health food they would go out of business. They fill a niche and provide a service, and do both incredibly well.
