You all experiencing long cranking - do you have the latest software for your trucks? I believe that was addressed in a software release.

My 23 had an update a few months ago and it definitely improved by shortening the crank times.

Update: 5/11/24 Battery failed on 4/3/24, 2 days out of warranty, replaced both. Engine start time has increased slightly to 3 seconds (cold start), 5+ seconds (warm start) used stop watch on my phone. Since I am old and hard of hearing I don't believe I am accurate to the second. Remote start stopped after a few seconds, Check Engine light appeared the following error codes P2509 ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Intermittent and P2579 Turbocharger Speed Sensor Circuit Range/Performance. Dealership said when I called for an appointment, they are finding a hole is being worn in a tube that connects to the Turbo charger. Anyone aware of this actually occurring?

The PS battery cable has been known to rest on the intercooler boot by the turbo outlet causing some abrasion.

I kinda glanced over your Post last night. I just wanted to add regarding the P2509, I’m not sure where that came into play with the batteries but it’s often associated with low/dead batteries or poor connection from batteries to cables.

I had a local diesel mechanic check out the new batteries, cables, and diagnose the error codes P2509 and P2579. He found no problems and cleared the codes, five days later error codes P2580 and P2579. I returned to the diesel mechanic (DM) today for further evaluation and his recommendation is replace the turbocharger(TC). My truck is a 2020, 2500 with 34000 and 7000 used for towing a trailer weighing between 8500 and 9500 lbs. Note I had the local DM install the following banks parts: Banks Ram-Air box, Monster-Ram intake system and an iDash Datamonster.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as to getting a 2nd opinion, replace TC with OE or after market TC

IIRC I have read of Banks stuff causing error codes not sure if the ones you have are because of it but would not hurt to check with Banks about the error codes

Your turbocharger is still under warranty, if they want to throw a turbo at it free of charge that’s up to them.

Probably not for a modified engine.
The diagnostic and recommend for a Turbo was done by an Indy from what I read.

The TC would have been covered under the 5yr 100,000 Power Train Warranty but I voided it by installing the Banks Air Box and Monster Ram Intake system?

TC is generally short for torque converter.

The Banks, and other aftermarket, intake and intake components are known to throw codes on stock tuned trucks.

Your codes all indicate a wiring issue. Have you inspected for any rodent damage?

How the aftermarket parts effect warranty comes down to your dealer. Technically they have to prove the parts caused the issue to void the warranty, but many dealers don’t do that and it’s too expensive to fight.

Thank you for your help, your time an knowledge is appreciated! I will call the dealership for an appointment tomorrow and call Banks regarding the error codes. The main reason I installed the Banks Monster Intake system was to prevent the grid heater nut from failing and falling into the engine and hopefully a small increase in miles per gallon. I will look for rodent damage, truck is parked in the garage 99% of the time, but that never stops rodents, they sovereign animals and don't recognize any laws regarding breaking and entering.
