For those that have bought a fuel cap for the 5th my bad 4.5 gen (2019-2024). I just spent about an hour looking and reading reviews. From what I've seen there are pros and cons on all of them. What one would you suggest?
    Thanks
    Craig

Still a 4th gen, but if you want to differentiate from 13-18 it’s a gen 4.5.

I have the mopar cap and it works as good as I would expect.

Trying to find a good link for the Mopar cap I have and can’t , it fits the cap-less design.

It was in a Mopar box, but it came from my selling dealer. Looks a lot like this.

My truck had a plastic cap on the filler. I decided to get a nice chunk of aluminum from FAB5 to fill that hole in.

I could never imagine driving without that cap, especially with all of the sand and salt that I find inside the filler area.

I've looked at them in the past but still have the little blue plastic milk jug top it came with on there... Been fine for 35k miles / 3 yrs so far no issues. I just take it off, fill it up, then put it back... Honestly I thought it would've blown away or gotten lost by now but its still there......:D

Thanks for all your reply's. My truck came as pictured, with nothing. If all goes as planned will be doing the 60gal S&B fuel tank install 13 May. With that being said will more then likely go with a locking cap. Yes the truck is garage kept just lQQking at when we are on the road camping etc..

First outing is at the end of the mouth for a few days. Just a couple hours up the road to Berlin OH. Wanting to do a short tow before heading up over I-68 out of Morgantown WV to Lancaster PA. end of Jun time frame.

I had the dealer install one for me as well. Worth EVERY PENNY the second the damn Truck Stop DEF pump nozzle jammed and blew DEF everywhere before I shut the pump off. It kept the DEF out of the hole for Diesel Fuel! The factory filler plug had drops of water in it from the predelivery car wash.

Ford has or does used the flipper fill hole as well . I think it’s a very bad system . What’s wrong with a cap really just stupid

Funny,,,, I never even considered that everyone did not / would not get this cap... I'd ask the dealer about it, is seems to simply work at no cost.

Thanks all, again. I will probably go with the Geno's Garage EZ lock cap...
ETA; that is what I had on my 18, but a different style.

IMHO this is the best cap. You won’t loose it and it’s simply press to install and lift to remove. Bought mine on SCAMAZON.

You can't get the fuel type any more clearer than that... lol

Diesel fuel only. Then on the neck, diesel only. :D

Here is the one I use.
    Home MOPAR 82215782
Diesel Gas Cap - Mopar (82215782)
Lightweight, easy to manipulate, seals well, is tethered and has lasted over 3 years so far. A bit spendy for a piece of plastic, but does its job well, including keeping a wild spritzing of a DEF nozzle juice in check as I, too, experienced just last week what Tuesdak mentioned.

Going tomorrow morning for the 60gal S&B fuel tank install, Had to cancel 13 May appointment. One of the rollover valves were broken. S&B shipped a new one. Hopefully all will go well.
