Hello friends, This morning while I was perusing the Airstream forum I saw a thread that GCroyle (aka GCinSC2 on the Airstream forum) has passed away on August 30th, 2023. https://www.airforums.com/forums/f366/slide-out-society-owners-registry-159166-54.html#post2698162 I only knew Gary through internet forums and we chatted back and forth over the years. He always brought good things to these internet forums and made it worthwhile to keep coming back. If you have any information about him please post it up.
Oh, dear. That's terrible news. I just spoke to Gary a few weeks ago. Does anyone know what happened? I don't think he's been sick. Wow...
Sorry to hear that, prayers for him, his family and extended friends and family. Always shared a bunch of cool stories and knowledge. Thanks for letting us know.
I will miss reading his clutch advice (regardless if I have gone back to The Darkside with an auto now).
One could be confident in his advice. A thread of his from AIR re disc brake conversion I’ve linked to others numerous times over the years: https://www.airforums.com/forums/f439/disc-brake-lag-pressure-vs-time-96724.html Comments: https://www.airforums.com/forums/f439/disc-brake-conversion-1966-tradewind-173738.html He was also a source re outdoor cast iron cooking and ALADDIN pressurized gas lamps & stoves. .
#ad From a post at AIR: “ . . One afternoon a couple years back at Alumalina, I found new, big, heavy-duty hooks on the hitch chains on my trailer. The ones I had (original to the trailer) were small and did not suit Gary, so he had replaced them. He said they looked more like something on a horse collar. (It was Gary, looking out for me). “ Gary M. Croyle, Hartsville, SC. .
